LOWDEN LIBRARY EXPANDS WITH GRANT FUNDS

WHEATLAND (IOWA) Lowden Public Library is the recipient of a $500 Aureon grant and a $500 match from F&B Communications to support the expansion of the library.

A project is underway to convert unfinished storage space into a multi-purpose room for classes, community meetings and library programming. The goal is to have the room ready for public use before the end of the year.

Completion of the project will allow the library to further their mission of serving the educational, cultural, information and recreation needs of the Lowden community. In addition to Aureon and F&B, other local businesses and individual donors have contributed to the project.

F&B Communications, the local telecommunications provider in Lowden, is one of more than 100 Iowa independent telephone company member-owners of Aureon, which helps to provide advanced telecommunications and data services across the state.

Nearly $45,200 has been awarded to organizations in the F&B Communications service area since the charity grant program began more than 25 years ago.

The charity grant program is open to non-profit organizations in the F&B Communications service area. Grant applications are available online. Charity grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and chosen by an independent review committee organized by Aureon.

F&B Communications is the premiere local telecommunications provider offering telephone, long distance, Absolute Cable TV video, high-speed fiber Internet, and home security services to customers in the Bennett, Calamus, Delmar, Lowden and Wheatland exchanges and surrounding areas. The company also provides computer sales and service through their Technology Solutions retail division.
