Dec. 21, 2001

WHEATLAND (IOWA) F&B Communications customers can now log on to check their account balance or view long distance toll records from their personal computer with a new free service called eStatement.

eStatement gives customers quick access to current and previous billing statements, plus sortable Lincolnway and Iowa Network Services long distance toll records. Toll records can also be downloaded and opened in a computer spreadsheet program.

"This is another value-added service for F&B customers that takes advantage of the cutting-edge trends in Internet technology," said F&B Communications General Manager Ken Laursen. "eStatement shows F&B's commitment to being a local leader in the telecommunications industry."

The eStatement Web server uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is backed by a VeriSign security certificate offering the highest level of security encryption currently available. All information sent to the site is encrypted, protecting against disclosure to third parties.

Customers will soon be able to pay their bill online when a new credit card and automatic bank deduction payment option is introduced in the first quarter of 2002.

There is no cost to use eStatement.

The company Website, available at http://www.fbc-tele.com, also underwent a face-life. The new and updated site features simpler navigation and many new features, including a frequently asked questions section, troubleshooting repair guide, new customer service section and an enhanced press room with links to company newspaper advertisements and press releases.

"Visitors will notice the site loads quicker and contains fewer large graphic files," said F&B Communications web designer Aaron Horman.

F&B Communications is the local telecommunications provider offering telephone, cable television, digital broadcast satellite, dial-up Internet, high-speed DSL Internet and wireless PCS services to customers in the Bennett, Calamus, Delmar, Lowden and Wheatland exchanges.

Customers who would like to sign up for eStatement can call F&B Communications at 563-374-1236 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or e-mail estatement@fbc-tele.com.
