GRANT SUPPORTS CAL-WHEAT AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
WHEATLAND (IOWA) Calamus-Wheatland Elementary’s After School Program is the recipient of a $300 Iowa Network Services (INS) Charity Grant, plus a $300 matching contribution from F&B Communications.
Grant funds will be used by the group to purchase basketball hoops and other program materials. The program provides a safe place for students with structured activities on early dismissal days.
F&B is proud to partner with the school on such an important program that benefits the youth of our community, said Ken Laursen, F&B general manager.
F&B Communications, the local telecommunications provider in Calamus and Wheatland, is one of 122 Iowa independent telephone company member-owners of INS, which helps to provide advanced telecommunications and data services across the state.
Nearly $20,000 has been awarded to organizations in the F&B Communications service area in the last 20 years since the charity grant program began.
The charity grant program is open to non-profit organizations in the F&B Communications service area. Grant applications are available at the business office in Wheatland. Charity grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and chosen by an independent review committee organized by INS.
