LOCAL GROUPS NET CHARITY GRANT FUNDS

WHEATLAND (IOWA) The Wheatland Community Hall is the recipient of a $1,150 Iowa Network Services (INS) Charity Grant, plus a $1,150 matching contribution from F&B Communications. The grant funds will be used by the Community Hall to purchase and install a fire suppression system covering the grill in the kitchen as well as provide for other fire safety needs throughout the building.

The Delmar Volunteer Fire Department is also the recipient of a $500 Iowa Network Services (INS) Charity Grant, plus a $500 matching contribution from F&B Communications. The grant funds will be used by the Fire Department to purchase appliances in the kitchen area in the fire station's new addition.

F&B Communications, the local telecommunications provider in Wheatland and Delmar, is one of 122 Iowa independent telephone company member-owners of INS, which helps to provide advanced telecommunications and data services across the state.

“We are proud to support community projects that benefit those that we serve," said Ken Laursen, F&B general manager. “Both organizations provide vital services to our communities and we are pleased to assist.”

More than $19,000 has been awarded to organizations in the F&B Communications service area in the last 20 years since the charity grant program began.

The charity grant program is open to non-profit organizations in the F&B Communications service area. Grant applications are available at the business office in Wheatland. Charity grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and chosen by an independent review committee organized by INS.

F&B Communications is the premiere local telecommunications provider offering telephone, long distance, digital video, high-speed fiber and DSL Internet, satellite Internet, wireless PCS and home security services to customers in the Bennett, Calamus, Delmar, Lowden and Wheatland exchanges and surrounding areas.
