GRANTS SUPPORT TECH UPGRADES AT RETREAT CENTER
WHEATLAND (IOWA) Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat is the
recipient of a $500 Aureon Network Services (formerly Iowa Network
Services) Charity Grant, plus
a $500 matching contribution
from F&B Communications.
Grant funds will be used by
the organization for technology upgrades that include a new wi-fi system to facilitate the multimedia needs of their guests. The grant will also be used to enhance their telephone and TV infrastructure.
Located south of Wheatland, Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat is a ministry of the Congregation of the Humility of Mary and is a not-for-profit facility open to all faiths, groups and individuals for meetings, prayer, spiritual renewal, solitude and conferences.
F&B Communications, the local telecommunications provider in Wheatland, is one of more than 100 Iowa independent telephone company member-owners of Aureon Network Services, which helps to provide advanced telecommunications and data services across the state.
Nearly $25,000 has been awarded to organizations in the F&B Communications service area in the last 20 years since the charity grant program began.
The charity grant program is open to non-profit organizations in the F&B Communications service area. Grant applications are available at the business office in Wheatland. Charity grants are awarded on a quarterly basis and chosen by an independent review committee organized by Aureon.
F&B Communications is the premiere local telecommunications provider offering telephone, long distance, digital video, high-speed fiber and DSL Internet, satellite Internet, wireless PCS and home security services to customers in the Bennett, Calamus, Delmar, Lowden and Wheatland exchanges and surrounding areas.
