2003 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
F&B Communications is pleased to announce the 2003 College Scholarship
Program for high school seniors continuing their education.
In the inaugural year of the program, F&B Communications will
award one $500 scholarship to a student in the F&B Communications
service area based on scholastic achievement, citizenship and school
and community activities.
"The Board of Directors and employees of F&B Communications
are committed to the education of local youth and believe learning
is a lifelong process," said Ken Laursen, general manager.
F&B Communications will also partner with the Foundation for
Rural Service and enter all eligible entries into this national
scholarship program which will award fourteen $2,000 scholarships
Any graduating high school senior that lives in a household that
receives services from F&B Communications in the telephone service
areas of Bennett, Calamus, Delmar, Lowden or Wheatland is eligible.
To apply, students should complete an application, which is available
online at http://www.fbc-tele.com/scholarship/
or at the F&B Communications office in Wheatland.
application and accompanying materials should be postmarked or delivered
to F&B Communications by Feb. 21, 2003.
The application includes a brief essay and educator's recommendation
form. Students must also submit one letter of recommendation from
a local community leader and a copy of his/her grade transcripts.
